Team Pepper is a brand new value-driven social enterprise aspiring to become a global membership organization fighting day-to-day bias and inequality for women and other underrepresented groups. Team Pepper’s trailblazer initiative is to bring together millions of members who have suffered exclusion and injustice into a community that educates and stands up to inequality so that underrepresented groups can change from being overlooked to being looked after. By giving its members a platform in which to share their stories and support each other; whilst also accessing vital information and research on whether organisations are really developing products and services to suit their specific needs. In the future, they are aiming to generate significant revenue streams that will then go towards essential causes and campaigns. Team Pepper is working on building a transparent and honest structure where all decisions are made based on the priorities of its members.
In order to kickstart the project, Team Pepper contacted Appetite Creative to design and build a website for the initial crowdfunding campaign. Appetite Creative is an agency specialised in creating connected experiences for their clients through packaging solutions, gamified ads or website design. On top of the proven success at attracting and engaging online users in previous campaigns, Appetite Creative was a perfect match for Team Pepper because of their shared values and ideals, with managing director Jenny Stanley having previously founded a Women’s networking group across Dubai, London and Madrid, FemmeNiche for women to “learn from each other, lean on each other, get a different perspective, an extra boost” to overcome their everyday challenges.
In their collaboration, Appetite Creative provided Team Pepper with an engaging and efficient crowdfunding website where they could explain the mission of their initiative and encourage users to buy or gift membership plans. A carefully designed and branded website was developed with imagery that reflected Team Pepper’s values of diversity and inclusion.
In order to encourage users to purchase one of the four membership plans offered by Team Pepper, the site includes animated explanatory videos, interviews of the initiative’s founders and a flexible payment portal adapting to the user’s preferences. On top of the primary sections explaining, encouraging and making it possible for users to participate in Team Pepper’s crowdfunding campaign, a Founders Wall was set up within the website to recognize and thank early collaborators of the project.
“It was a great experience to work with a company who understood, shared and enabled our values, building a sleek and engaging website to help us start to bring together the community that women and other underrepresented groups deserve and push to make change happen” said Julia Hiles, from Team Pepper, on collaborating with Appetite Creative for their crowdfunding website.
“Supporting a company with a mission like Team Pepper’s at the beginning of their journey was an honour, we could not be happier that our solution is helping them gather the funds to launch their amazing initiative and we hope to continue to support them throughout their exciting journey.” Jenny Stanley, Managing director at Appetite Creative, on working with Team Pepper.
On its first week live, the site received over 5.2K visitors and over 45 membership purchases, launching the campaign for Team Pepper and welcoming the first members into what can become one of the biggest and most impactful social enterprises around the world.
